Welcome to Kappa Pi -at -Large Chapter. The mission of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide.  As a chapter in this prestigious nursing honor society, Kappa Pi works to advance this mission through our activities.  Sigma Theta Tau International and Kappa Pi recognize that the power of the organization is the people - each one of us - working together to make a difference.

If you are not a member and would like to know more about our Chapter, Kappa Pi events are open to members and non-members alike. We invite you to attend. Chapter event information can be found on the chapter homepage at http://kappapi.nursingsociety.org/kappapichapter/home/. If you are a member of STTI and are affiliated with another chapter, we would welcome your involvement. Members can easily transfer their membership to Kappa Pi or hold dual-memberships. Click on the "Membership" tab on the STTI website for more information.  If you are a practicing nurse, you are eligible to join if you are legally recognized to practice, have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in any field, and have demonstrated achievement in nursing. Scholarship Event

Good Morning,

I am writing to regretfully inform you that the Scholarship Research Evening scheduled for Wednesday, April 23rd from 5pm-7pm in the Bellin College Atrium has been cancelled. The goal of the local Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau was to provide area clinicians who are actively engaged in clinical practice, research, and process improvement, a format to disseminate and share the innovative and quality practices they are either working on or implementing in their health care organizations. At this time we have made a decision to postpone the event until a future date. We, in the near future, again hope to extend an invitation for participation in this event with the goal of having a diverse number of projects to share amongst your health care peers in our community. The work that we do as professionals is integral to the continued provision of quality health care, and the ability to share this information with others engaged in active nursing practice is key ongoing care provision improvement.

For those of you that had submitted an abstract for a poster I would like to thank you for your willingness to participate and share. I hope that you will please consider participation in this event in the future. As acting president of the board of Sigma Theta Tau I again apologize for the cancelation and I want to thank you for your understanding with regard to this change. I look forward to working with many of you in the future.

Take Care,

Susan Rymer
